A Closer look at the Beatitudes And Grace

When Jesus walked thee earth he blessed many people. In the scripture, we see an account of a group of people who he blessed; He said, 3“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you. These blessings are deeper then you may think. Just who are the poor? The poor can represent the people who know just how sinful they are in the eyes of God, the materially poor, or those who constantly seek after righteousness. Christ often spoke with double, sometimes triple meaning to his words. Just who are those who mourn? Those who mourn can be people who are depressed about their life or even those who are sorrowful over their own sin. The Meek of the earth can be people who live simple lives or maybe people who come into agreement with each other quickly. Those who thirst for righteousness can include anyone who desire to do God’s will, and maybe those who see just how far off they are from a holy and just God. The pure at heart or those are are innocent or those who have a just reason for their condition. The peacemakers can be anyone who seek after peace or it can mean people who seeks God’s rest. The people who are persecuted are those who are actually killed or experience hardship because of who they are or what they believe. You see, each and everyone of us are blessed in one way or the other. Let us not get to caught up judging others; wondering why they do what they do for we know that it is by grace. We all are different. We must live together, accepting each others gifts and being seasoned with salt always ready to give a reason for our hope.
