Are You Ready for the Return

Ask yourself, if Christ were to appear today, would you be ready? Have you done all that he asked you to do? Have you confessed your sins, repented, and lived a new life? Few people would say that they are ready for his return. The bible says, And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness and cares of this life, and so that Day come upon you unawares. We have to live every day as if it is our last. In 2 Peter 3 it reads, But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat. The earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. So we see here that we won’t know the day of his coming. But we do know that all eyes shall see Revelation says, Look, Jesus is coming with the clouds, and everyone will see him, even those who stabbed him. And all peoples of the earth will cry loudly because of him. Yes, this will happen! Amen. Let no man fool you, saying Christ is here or there, for everyone shall see him who they have pierced. After the judgement, the books shall be opened. Every man’s work shall be tried by fire and if there is anything left, he shall have a reward. Christ is our foundation; no other foundation can a man lay that’s not sinking sand. We can build with gold, silver, wood, or stable. It is up to us how we prepare for eternity. We should set our sights on things above that we may reap the eternal glory; for if our eyes are on things beneath we will fall, and we surely won’t make it. We have to be wise master-builders doing the Lord’s work and quick in season and out of season. Let us put our focus on the fruits of the spirit love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control against such things there is no law.
